Silk
Silk is the strongest animal fibre there is, and is made from the cocoon of a silk worm. Silk is elastic, crease resistant, lustrous, supple, lightweight, ultra-fine and highly absorbent, but not very durable. Because sunlight can cause the colours to fade quickly, silk must be lined if it is to be used as curtain fabric.
