Cotton
Cotton is produced from a natural fibre that comes from the cotton plant. Cotton is strong and longwearing, highly absorbent, able to withstand pressing and ironing at high temperatures and washable. It is mothproof, supple and has only a slight tendency to generate electrostatic charge. Disadvantages are that it tends to wrinkle and shrink in the wash and that it is flammable. These disadvantages can be overcome through the appropriate ageing treatments.
